A high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister in Gandhinagar conducted a comprehensive review of the planning against the possible hurricane situation.

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani: -

Advance arrangements are being made in the coastal districts of the state to keep a constant watch on the movement of hurricanes.

The Prime Minister-Home Minister and the Government of India have been instrumental in the arrangements by constantly worrying about Gujarat

The district administration has been instructed to ensure that no deaths occur as a result of hurricanes with the concept of 'Zero' Casualty.

The Minister of State has handed over the responsibility of various districts to the Ministers and has planned to reach out to those districts immediately and help them by guiding the district administration.


DGs in all hospitals in the state. Instructions have been given to ensure that power supply to hospitals, including Kovid Hospitals, is not disrupted by arranging sets.

Ambulances with advanced life support and ICU ambulances will be shifted from different parts of the state and standby in Jamnagar, Junagadh, Rajkot and Kutch.


Oxygen support and ICU patients will be kept safe in Kovid hospitals in coastal districts and arrangements will be made to shift them to the nearest district hospital if required *

Instruction to district authorities to take Agaryas and seafarers from the sea to the land

Ambulances with advanced life support system and ICU ambulances will be shifted from different parts of the state and standby will be maintained in Jamnagar, Rajkot, Kutch and Junagadh *.


The entire administration is ready to deal with this potential hurricane without any interruption in the treatment of the patients in case of Covid-12.

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani held a high level meeting in Gandhinagar today to take stock of the current situation of possible hurricanes in Gujarat and the state government's readiness to deal with the hurricane.

The Chief Minister directed the entire administration to prepare in advance to deal with the impending calamity at a time when the coastal districts of the state were facing the threat of this potential hurricane and got in-depth information on the arrangements made by the concerned districts.

The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani and was attended by Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Shri Saurabhbhai Patel, Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Shri Anil Mukim, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri K. Kailasanathan, Additional Chief Secretaries Shri Pankaj Kumar and Shri M. K. Das, Frontline Health Secretary Mrs. Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Relief Commissioner Shri Harshad Patel as well as Senior Secretaries were present.

Giving details of the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Indian Meteorological Department from the control room of the Emergency Operations Center of the state government was in constant touch with the meteorologists and appropriate arrangements were being made to monitor the movement of this potential hurricane in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister said that special instructions have been issued to the district administration to ensure that not a single death is caused by a possible hurricane in the state with the concept of 'Zero' Casualty.

Shri Vijaybhai Rupani said that the entire administration has already been sabotaged in view of the possible impact of this hurricane in the areas of Kutch, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Porbandar, Amreli, Junagadh and Jamnagar districts and he himself has telephoned the collectors of these districts Details of the situation and advance planning done by the district administration have been obtained.

"In view of the prevailing situation of Covid-14, special arrangements have been made for the critical patients undergoing treatment in government and private Covid hospitals in the coastal districts of the state where the hurricane may affect. Not only that, he has urged the collectors of this district to maintain the supply of oxygen and other necessary treatment arrangements in such circumstances, ”said the Chief Minister.

Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani made it clear in this meeting that in the current situation of Kovid-18, there is no hindrance in the treatment of Kovid patients and infected people and we have planned to face this potential hurricane situation with determination.

The Chief Minister said that in all the hospitals of the state, DG Instructions have been given to keep the set ready so that even if the power supply is disrupted, the patients of Kovid-12 will not face any problem in treatment.

Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani also added that all the patients undergoing treatment on oxygen and ventilator should be kept safe and if necessary they should be shifted to Kovid Hospital in the nearest district.

The Chief Minister also said that ambulances with advanced life support system and ICU ambulances would be shifted from different parts of the state and kept on standby in Jamnagar, Rajkot, Kutch and Junagadh.

The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister have been instrumental in helping Gujarat in dealing with this potential hurricane disaster and 3 teams of NDRF allotted by the Government of India have been deployed in the coastal districts of the state.
